NFL 2006 Conference Championships

Ouch. Bad week for picks last week (1-3). Overall, I’m at 4-4 for the playoffs.

1) AFC Championship

- Steelers have been playing better. They beat both Cincy and Indy on the road

- It wasn’t so much that the Broncos beat the Pats, but it was more like the Pats beat themselves (Two 1 yard scoring drivers off turnovers for the Broncos). Not to mention everything seemed to fall in Denver’s favor in that game (Vinatieri missing a FG, Sauerbrun forcing a Pats fumbling, questionable pass interference call on Samuel)

Therefore, I like the Steelers over the Broncos

2) NFC Championship

- Jake Delhomme is great in the playoffs (5-1, go figure)

- Shaun Alexander is as soft as twinky filling

- The Seahawks have a suspect secondary and Steve Smith has been a one man wrecking crew

Steve Smith vs. Bears: 12 Rec, 218 yds, 2 TDs

Steve Smith vs. Giants: 10 Rec, 84 yds 1 TD

1 Rush, 12 yds, 1 TD

Therefore, I like the Panthers Steve Smith over the Seahawks
