It's got you high
The sweet sweet euphoric endorphin rush. The challenge, the opportunity to let loose, the sense of power and accomplishment. Got to love it.
Mumm-Ra: She's got you high
Shadows of Tomorrow
I've been watching a lot of old films and two scenes foreshadowed recent events.
Rear Window (1954): James Stewart's nurse notes that she foresaw the crash of 1929 because she saw the General Motors president was panicking over his company's problems.
Guess Who's Coming to Dinner (1967): Someone (I think Sidney Poitier's girlfriend) said race relations would improve and that a black president would be elected in their lifetimes. Sidney is still hanging on at age 82.
Some IMDB reviewers commented that GWCD is out of date, but I wholeheartedly disagree. Substitute gay marriage for interracial marriage and I see the exact same problem. My prediction for this decade was the introduction of nanotechnology, but I now think a movie similar to GWCD about gay marriage will be released. Whether it's as good as GWCD is doubtful since GWCD was a damn good film.
