I was in a guy's guard and he tried to armbar me, so I stacked him (aka, I pushed his legs until his knees touched his nose) and moved into side control. Then I followed BJ Penn's side control to mount advice; I was super surprised by how well it worked. In mount, I kept working for an americana, but couldn't get it. There were some armbar opportunities, but I fear I would miss getting my leg on his head and thus screwing up the armbar.
I established a good base, so the other guy wasn't able to bridge me off. Eventually, I slowly worked my knee up to his head and I went for the armbar. However, he crossed his arms and I couldn't/didn't know how to finish him.
A spectator told me I did a good job of swinging my leg over and next time, I should pin his wrist to my chest before falling backwards for the armbar.
In mma fights, in the mount, I notice that
Nogueira usually isolates an arm and goes for a figure four hold before going for the armbar. I should try that next time.
Lowlight
I have a bad habit of leading with my head or letting my head get pushed down, thus leaving me vulnerable for guillotines. Anyhow, I get caught in a guillotine and the guy pulls guard. I ended up in half guard, but I started panicking instead of staying calm. So I ended up tapping. Shameful.
People annoy me

Edward is Bored
There are only 4 scenarios where I'm legitimately bored
1) I'm not at home and have no source of entertainment at hand (ie, living in a motel with no tv and nothing to read)
2) When I'm too tired to do anything. Since I have no energy, I don't do anything resulting in boredom.
3) A rare scenario where I've been out of work for a while and finally get a job and the consequently guilty feelings I have concerning my unproductivity
4) ahhh I don't feel like sharing the last one. It's more of an emotional state where the side effects include moderate boredom.

Prosecutors have since dropped the charges against the boy, but his mother is still concerned.
The sexual conduct occurred during a game of “truth or dare” while the boy was being watched by the babysitter.
Prosecutors say that, while the babysitter initiated the contact, the young boy was a willing participant.
“She dared my son to touch her breasts,” says Michelle Grosbeck, the boy’s mother.
After hiring the teenager to baby sit, Grosbeck got the feeling something was wrong.
“It was just that sense that something wasn’t quite right with this 14-year-old girl,” she said. She asked her son what had happened. “He just came right out as if nothing was awry, and just started talking about what had happened.”
Grosbeck went to police and child protection workers, and the case went to the district attorney, after which her son, age eight, had been charged with an act of lewdness with a minor.
Grosbeck says the Salt Lake County District Attorney told her both the child and teenager were equal participants. But Mrs. Grosbeck didn’t believe that.
“My son is eight, he’s a little boy. He does not have the ability to participate on the same level as a fourteen-year-old,” she said.
Although the charges against her son were dropped, she is concerned that the same thing could happen to other victims of sexual abuse.
“I don’t want parents to be afraid to go to the state agencies that are supposed to be protecting our children when things like this happen, out of fear that their children are going to be charged
The district attorney’s office confirmed the charges had been made, and that they had been dropped. Other than that, they wouldn’t comment. The Division of Child and Family Services also declined to comment.

Daily Musings
Dull week long seminar in prince george, but at least, I can learn a lot from the 1200 page note package.
Missed the Lebron 48 point game. d'oh
Watched a 2.5 hour mma/bjj class, which caused the above. Looks fun although I'll probably be tapping out like a mofo in the beginning.
